ROLE PURPOSE
The Group EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Manager holds a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the EHS function across our electrical and mechanical engineering and construction operations in Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Reporting to the Group QEHS and Sustainability Director, this role ensures the uniform application of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, championing the Zero Harm initiative and leading health and safety reporting and analytics.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plays a pivotal role in development and rolling out a world-class comprehensive EHS management system that meets both regulatory demands and organisational objectives across all geographic regions, ensuring a cohesive and standardised approach to environmental, health, and safety management.
· Provide strategic direction and leadership to EHS managers in Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Europe, ensuring alignment with corporate EHS goals and priorities.
· Collaborate with senior leadership, campus leads/project managers and operational teams to integrate EHS considerations into business planning, project execution, and decision-making processes.
· Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate EHS performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
· Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track EHS performance, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Lead the development and delivery of training programs, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote a culture of safety, health, and environmental stewardship across the organisation.
· Leads serious incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes to prevent recurrence and mitigate EHS risks.
· Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external stakeholders to stay abreast of emerging EHS trends, regulations, and best practices.
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting of EHS data, including incident statistics, compliance metrics, and regulatory submissions, to internal and external stakeholders.
· Facilitate the sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and innovative solutions across geographic regions to drive consistency and excellence in EHS performance.
· Develop and maintain emergency response plans, crisis management protocols, and business continuity strategies to mitigate the impact of emergencies and disasters.
· Champion Zero Harm and lead the planning and implementation of this strategic change initiative.
· Champion sustainability initiatives, energy conservation efforts, and waste reduction programs to minimise the company's environmental footprint and promote resource efficiency.
· Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and environmental impact assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks and liabilities associated with company operations.
· Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on EHS matters to the board, senior leadership, project teams, and cross-functional committees.
· Stays abreast of updates to EHS legislation and regulations, industry trends and best practices and ensures these are communicated accordingly.
· Supports QEHS & Sustainability Director / Company Management / Operations Teams in introducing and implementing effective measures to prevent incidents.
· Assists with the tendering process for future works, including pre-qualifications, non-commercial submissions and pre-clarification meetings with clients and GCs.
· Facilitates external audits as required for ISO certifications, clients and others as required.
· Supports QEHS & Sustainability Director with implementing Overall EHS Strategy Map and EHS Scorecard objectives.
· Supports and drives the implementation of technology tools to enhance operational EHS processes.
· Supports Strategic Workforce Planning for current and future works.
· Ongoing review of regional EHS Org Structure, including recruitment and performance management of team members.
· Assists with the hiring process and mentors existing & new EHS Team members, focusing on their onboarding, development, competency, performance, and retention in line with project and business risks and demands.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Master's or Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CIH) preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in EHS management, with significant experience in the electrical and mechanical engineering or construction industry.
· Strong understanding of international EHS regulations, standards, and best practices, with specific knowledge of Irish, UK, and European Union directives and requirements.
· Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate teams across multiple geographic locations.

MEP Gen 2 Manufacturing Volvo Cars Propulsion Components is responsible for the production of the full electric engine for Volvo Cars including assembly, logistic and part of the support process supply components of premium quality in the right time and at the right place. Production VCPC continuously develops the complete process to reach optimal quality level and delivery precision. 

VCPC Manufacturing is taking full responsibility of the Production within the main areas of Assembly, Logistics and needed support functions . 
We are now looking for a Supervisor to this area. 
As a Supervisor you will get the opportunity to lead and develop in a transforming environment designing the future. You will report to our superintendent and be a part of the management team.
This role will follow the production shift which means there will we work during different shifts
What you’ll do?
As a leader you will be part of our management team and be directly supervising and coordinating the activities of production and team members. 
Your main purpose is to coach and assist your team to empower them to work as a cohesive unit to meet the organization goals and work according to set working methods.   
You are the owner with full mandate to drive the Lean transformation in your team and flow.
Your focus is real-time management being able to react to deviations and improve processes. As a team member of the production team you will gain the possibility to develop, improve and take part of the transformational work to set new “ways of working” standards. As leader in Production you are a role model by Lean management behavior and transformation. Organizing work and resources in such a way that the company's goals in the short and medium term meet effectively is key in this role.
To be successful in the role you must be able to lead the team in a way that supports the Volvo Cars culture and wanted leadership behaviors. Other responsibilities include performance management, competency development, knowledge sharing and resource allocation according to requirements of the business.
