Mine ventilation engineer


• Mine ventilation engineer with experience working on ventilation and cooling projects.
• In this role the engineer will ensure that conditions underground are safe work environments. Specialized knowledge and experience designing ventilation circuits that ensure workers have clean air to breathe by removing pollutants from mining activities (e.g., engine exhaust, dust, smoke). The ventilation system needs to direct limited quantities of air to work areas thousands of metres underground efficiently by using mechanical equipment (e.g., fans, ducts, dampers, instrumentation such as flowmeters and pressure gauges)
• Specific expertise in mine ventilation onsite to improve the efficiency of their operations and to plan for future mine development.
o Co-ordination of ventilation projects, including management of external consultants budgets, deliverables and performance
o Monitoring of the health of underground ventilation system using a combination of real-time monitoring instruments and field investigations
o Assessment of future ventilation needs for the next 45+ years of mine life
o Specification, selection, and technical review of ventilation equipment
o Process engineering calculations for industrial heating systems, including air/water and air/air heaters
o Required education (engineering degree, certifications etc)
• Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering
• Master of Applied Science (role requires knowledge of both chemical and process engineering)
• The role requires at least 2.5 years experience with the following:
o Experience developing and modelling ventilation plans for block cave mining.
o Cryogenic cooling plant design experience.
o Experience writing specifications for procurement for key pieces of equipment and coordinated with the client, vendors, and contractors.
o Experience designing mine air cooling systems, including process development, as well as equipment sizing and development.
o Experience developing capital and operating expense estimates for specialized gas handling equipment (e.g., fans, ducts, air pollution control systems)

The overall objective of this position is ensuring an effective workface planning program is being used on the projects in accordance with the Workface Planning Implementation Plan and with relevant WFP contract attachment requirements.

Specific Responsibilities
· The WFP facilitator assists in the development of IWPs

· Utilizes his/her hands-on construction expertise to assist Contractor’s development of IWPs and subsequent assembly of IWPs in SmartPlant Construction (SPC)
· The WFP facilitator coordinates with and provides construction knowledge to project schedulers, engineers, other WFP facilitators and superintendents
· Identifies specific risks associated with executing the planned activities.
· Reviewing final IWP for completeness and accuracy
· Constraint identification and clearance
· Provide continuous support of the IWP process from initial IWP scoping sessions through to the IWP close out.

· The WFP Lead ensures that the project WFP program is being implemented across all targeted areas of the project in conjunction with the construction managers, superintendents, and Contractors WFP teams.
· Establishes strong working relationships with Area Construction Management and Contractor WFP champions.
· Develops the Workface Planning Implementation Plan, considering the requirements of WFP attachment, into a cohesive WFP execution strategy across all applicable CWPs.
· Manages IWP coordination in support of the Path of Construction, CWP Installation Sequence Plan, and Schedule.
· Facilitates IWP scoping sessions, constraint removal sessions and IWP closeout meetings.
· Supports assigned WFP Facilitators and Contractor WFP planners with the development and assembly of IWPs, ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency at the Workface and that the broader principles as laid out in the Workface Planning Implementation Plan and in contract attachment are considered in the planning process.
· Audits IWPs for completeness and compliance.
· Reviews Contractors WFP procedures for program compliance.
· Arranges and conducts audits against Company procedures and Contractor’s procedures throughout the project.
· Works with construction schedulers and the CWP coordinator to ensure that the CWP release review process is working properly.
· Works with the Engineering organization and the constructability team to align Construction Work Packages’ (CWPs) sequence and IWPs’ sequence.
· Ensures that the data required to build IWP packages is available and accurate.
· Facilitates and expedites the removal of construction constraints throughout the Project.
· Liaises with Software administrator to align automation efforts with WFP requirements.
· Assists in the Project Controls Team to align their data management (Unit rates, milestones, quantities, and schedule) and reporting structure with the application of Workface Planning.
· Works with construction teams / client and Contractors to help define and arrange their WFP training requirements.
· Ensures good IWP record keeping in accordance with WFP department guidelines and procedures.
· Contributes to lessons learned and risk review sessions on Workface Planning throughout the project.
· Assists the WFP manager as required.
· Works with the AWP/WFP manager to ensure sufficient WFP Facilitators are assigned to effectively cover the project WFP workload.
Works with the AWP/WFP manager to ensure common tracking tools are being used and that Contractors comply with WFP reporting requirements.

· Complete Electrical Verification team is responsible for Electrical Integration-, OTA-, Base Technology- and Vehicle Mode Management testing.
· Our Client is looking for another experienced OTA test engineer to secure OTA E2E functionality in current and upcoming EU/US introductions for them.

To be successful in this assignment the Client expect you to:
· Document and communicate root cause and/or relevant information on problems identified to responsible design area.
· Plan, prepare and execute test events together with internal and external stakeholders.
· Support test specification development.

Qualifications and skills required for the role
· Good knowledge of in vehicle electrical systems in general.
· Experience of OTA solution and full OTA function (cloud, vehicle and app).
· Deep knowledge in communication protocols (e.g. CAN, CAN-FD, FlexRay, Ethernet, LVDS, LIN)
· B.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent area.
· Strong Vector tools experience.
· Test automation knowledge.
· Experience from Volvo Cars Electrical Platform or the Clients’ CMA/GEEA2/ZEEAx platform is an advantage.
· Deep experience in test tools such as CANoe, DSA, Wireshark and Python programming.
